Who's laughing now?

Many people have made jokes that I'm jumping the gun with my wedding planning. I know that it's 1 year and two weeks away. But I have already discovered that there is another wedding on the same day at the place as my wedding but earlier in the day. I also learned that that bride is using the same musicians as me. I also learned that someone tried to snake my DJ for the same day and time already. So I guess it's a good thing I am working so far ahead! For those keeping track I have a contract with the musicians, DJ, and a make-up artist who will also make up guests if asked.

This weekend my mother and I sat down with MaryBeth Stephenson our wedding coordinator at the Holiday Inn and arranged our room block, rehersal dinner, and sunday breakfast. There was a 4 PM wedding in the gazebo on Saturday and mom and I watched the processional. The bridesmaids were in wine, the bride was in ivory, and the music was the same as what I have chosen so far. So much for being an original!

I also had a chat with Scott's friend Bambi. She is one of Scott's long-time friends and she has a beautiful singing voice. Scott asked her to sing at the wedding. We have all agreed that she's going to sing "Grow Old With Me." It's a beautiful song and perfect for the occassion and I really look forward to hearing Bambi sing it. :-) It's nice to have talented friends!

Scott and I went to the tux place and put in a downpayment on a tuxedo so we could lock in the discount I won at the bridal fair. This way Scott's men pay 2005 prices even if they go up in 2006.

Mom and I also stupidly ventured into David's bridal on a Saturday. There were at least 5 bridezillas in there. The sales woman looked relieved when I told her that I didn't want to try on gowns, I just wanted to look around and get ideas. I decided I am not getting my gown there. They only have about 10 styles for plus size brides and of those 10, I only like 1... and it's a little out of my price range. I think the bridesmaids should get their dresses there since they have the color I like in many styles and they have David's bridal shops all over the country.

At this point all that's left are flowers, dresses, rings, meeting with the pastor, booking the honeymoon, and getting the marriage license. (I think)
